The Library now has free access to this new service from the British Library which includes the full-text of various major national and regional newspapers of the 19th century. The service offers a powerful search system and the papers can be viewed in PDF format or printed using a tool that allows you to print only the required part of the page.   

Access is available via IP address and Athens.

The Historic Hooke Folio December 14, 2007

The notes and minutes written by Robert Hooke in the 17th century. Hooke was an eminent scientist and secretary of the Royal Society. This invaluable and illuminating text was discovered in 2006, and shines a light on a time of rapid progression in scientific thought and practice.
Now available using digital page turning technology. Readers can leaf through selected papers of the original manuscript to see first-hand notes and scribbles.
The Hooke Folio is available via Imperial IP address.

 

Opening Times 14 – 16 December December 11, 2007

All Imperial Libraries will be closed by 7.00pm on Friday 14 December.
There will be disruption to library computer systems during the weekend of 15 and 16 December. This will affect some of our sevices including the library catalogue and MetaLib.

The Central Library will also be closed for the whole weekend due to a total power / lighting shut down.
