Lunchtime training sessions October 25, 2007

The Learning and Research Support Programme has unveiled its Autumn programme! The programme offers free lunchtime sessions on a variety of topics including using databases and the internet for academic research, as well as reading and note taking.

Senate House Library October 22, 2007

Senate House is the main library for the University of London.
The collections are focused primarily on arts and social sciences. Imperial students and staff wishing to access Senate House Library are required to complete and submit an application form PRIOR to visiting Senate House.

All applications must be validated by a member of Imperial Library staff. Applicants may be required to attend an ‘intention of use’ interview prior to validation.
Staff and students at the South Kensington Campus should contact the Central Library Help Desk on level 2.

Membership will be offered by academic year for a period up to either 6 or 12 months.

 

OCLC FirstSearch Service October 19, 2007

The Library now subscribes to the OCLC FirstSearch service which replaces Eureka from RLG (Research Libraries Group). This service includes the following databases:

  • History of Science, Technology & Medicine
  • Russian Academy of Sciences Bibilographies

Wellcome Images October 18, 2007

Launched in June this year, Wellcome Images is a free collection of images on the history of biomedical and clinical medicine, including modern coverage. For more information click here

 

New E-Journal: The Journal of the History of Collections October 10, 2007

The library now subscribes to the full text of The Journal of the History of Collections from 2002 onwards. Access is via IP address or AthensDA.

The journal covers collections and collectors and includes information on forthcoming events including conferences and exhibitions.
